He was born on November 12, 1962, in Louisville, KY, the son of Ralph “Mac” Jr. and Betty J. (Doll) McDermont.
Mark graduated from Sullivan High School in Indiana and received his associate’s degree from Lincoln Land Community College. He worked as a cook at St. John’s Hospital. Mark was a member of South Side Christian Church. He was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark is survived by his brother, R. Michael (Barbara) McDermont of Springfield; two nieces; and one nephew.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. CST on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, IL.
Graveside Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Vincennes, IN.
