

Marty was born on Dec. 26, 1944, in Springfield, the son of Carl and Agnes (Grady) Buedel. He married Regina Abramikas on June 12, 1971, in Springfield.
Marty graduated from Griffin High School in 1963 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 30 years. Marty was a member of the American International Right of Way Association and the Illinois Association of Engineers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and target shooting.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Buedel; and sister, Carole White.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Buedel of Springfield; son, Matthew Buedel of Peoria; granddaughter, Felicity Buedel; brother, Carl “Bud” (Pat) Buedel of Zionsville, IN; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Buedel of Springfield, and Violet “Angela” Abad of Arvada, CO; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 2 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, with The Very Rev. Daniel Bergbower, V.F., celebrant. The Mass will be recorded. Family and friends may view after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, by clicking HERE
Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
