

Mary Rose Daughton, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at St. John's Hospice. She was born April 13, 1918 the daughter of Robert and Beulah Adams Lauer in Springfield. She married James E. Daughton in Springfield, IL on May 27, 1939, and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1979. Mrs. Daughton worked as an LPN for St. John's Hospital and at various times seved as a volunteer guide at Lincoln's Tomb, the Old State Capital, and the Dana Thomas House. She was active in the state and national Senior Olympics winning medals in cycling and race walking. She was also a member of St. Agnes Church and the St. Agnes Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, , her husband, her Aunt: Margaret Lauer, her mother-in-law, and her brother. Surviving is her son: William J. (wife-Sharon) Daughton of Longmont, CO, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home on Friday, February 9, 2001 with the Rev Mark Schulte officiating. Remains will be cremated and inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery on Saturday February 10, 2001 at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred-Heart Griffin 1200 W.
