Mary T. Gosse

Mary T. Gosse, 91, of Springfield, died at 11:02 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Oak Terrace. Mary was born May 22, 1922 in Edwardsville, the daughter of Albert E. and Amelia E. Hellrung Feldworth. She married Charles A. Gosse on May 4, 1957 in Chicago; he preceded her in death in December 1976. Mary was a member of Gold Star Wives in Chicago, was a longtime volunteer for Hines VA Hospital in Chicago, and a volunteer at Salvation Army. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward and Frederick Feldworth; and one sister, Dorothy Rogers. She is survived by one son, James (wife, Doris) Gosse of Henderson, NV; one daughter, Susan Robinson of Kankakee; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Randy Weber, both of Kankakee; three great-grandchildren; nine nephews, Don, Bill, Mick, Denny, Danny, Doug, David, and Duane Rogers, and Mark Feldworth; three nieces, Diane Rogers, Debbie Greenan, and Judy Feldworth; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola celebrant. Burial will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
