Born at home on the Illinois prairie in 1930 as thrashers worked in the fields. She attended a one room schoolhouse in her beloved prairie. She began her college years at Mac Murray college for women in Jacksonville, transferring to Bradley University in Peoria and then on to Illinois State University. She would meet Ken at Bradley when he was a dashing ROTC cadet They married in September of 1954, the day of Ken's graduation from the Air Force Flight Academy in San Antonio, Texas.
The Air Force became their home for the next five years. Ken returned to Payson with his wife and their first child in 1958. Mary Helen was a homemaker as Ken went into business with his father at Morgan Auto Supply. Everything was growing: the business, the family, and her desire to return to teaching. She would substitute teach while her girls were little but by the fall of 1967 she was full time in the classroom as the fourth grade position she then cherished for 45 years. She taught her students what the prairie had taught her hard work always has its rewards. Retirement was considered the next chapter in her story consisting of travel, grandchildren, and reading many great books.
Her passing thoughts would be: let God love you, raise and educate your children well, have good friends, and eat a chocolate chip cookie!
She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Ken Morgan, a daughter Mary Kendra Morgan, her five siblings and their spouses, and her parents Richmond and Ina Goodyear Robison. She is survived by her daughters Kelly (Raymond) Bobier and Allison (Tim) Worman; as well as her grandsons, Heath Bobier, Chase (Audrey) Bobier, and Jared (Ellie) Bobier.
