

Mary Lou Proctor, 80, of Springfield, died at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009 at her home. Mary Lou was born February 2, 1929 in Christian County, the daughter of Louis O. and Ruby G. (Stillwagon) Sloman. She married Gene L. Proctor on April 19, 1947. He preceded her in death in October 1994. Mary Lou was a graduate of Springfield High School. She retired from the state as a payroll clerk for the Secretary of the Senate. Mary Lou belonged to Central Baptist Church where she was a volunteer. She was also a classroom volunteer at Lee School for many years and served as the Precinct 50 election judge. Mary Lou was a member of the Variety Club and enjoyed watching sports and doing jigsaw puzzles. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Sam E. Jenkins; her brother, Robert L. Sloman and his wife, Betty; her step-brother, Ray Jenkins and his wife, Frances; her step-sister, Lorraine Martin and her husband, Dean. She is survived by her two children, son, Kevin G. Proctor (wife, Carolyn Edwards) of Springfield and daughter, Kristine G. Skube (husband, Mark) of Edmond, OK; four grandchildren, Zachary Proctor (fiance, Kensie Willhite) of Springfield, Kellsey Proctor, (fianc, Joe Twesme) of Ridgecrest, CA, Justin Skube (wife, Marisa) of Edmond, OK and Jarin Skube of New York City, NY; three great-grandchildren, Kalyn Marie and Londyn Rae Skube and Zachary Gene Proctor; one sister, Alice Antonacci (husband, Ernie); two step-sisters, Helen Beckmier (husband, Lyle) and Marjorie Housh (husband, Bo, deceased); one aunt, Marjorie Allen; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Ellen Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
