Mary C. Ritter

Mary C. Ritter, 81, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Springfield and Chicago, died Friday, September 26, 2003 in Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Ritter was born on October 4, 1921, the daughter of John and Marie Rowan Lex. She married Russell B. Ritter on September 20, 1947 in Springfield. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1994. Mrs. Ritter had been employed as a Customer Service Representative for Marine Bank for many years. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was the current president of the Resident’s Association at the Life Care Center of Paradise Valley, where she lived. Mrs. Ritter was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one son: Richard of Bloomingdale; three brothers: John (wife, Teri) Lex of Springfield, Joseph Lex of Philadelphia, PA and Frank Lex (wife, Kaye) of Shreveport, LA; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, including Bob and Jane Ritter of Springfield. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Emphysema Foundation, 15 Stevens Street, Norwalk, CT 06850. The family of Mary C.
