Mary Louise von Behren

Mary Louise von Behren, age 84, of Springfield, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at St. John’s Hospice. Mrs.von Behren was born November 16, 1918 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Julien J. and Louise P. Layendecker Monier. She married Robert E. “Bob” von Behren on April 30, 1941 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mary Louise was a graduate of Springfield High School and Brown’s Business College. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Louise de Marillac Guild, St. Victor’s Coterie, St. Joseph’s Home Coterie and various senior citizens bridge clubs. She was a past member of Oakcrest Country Club and Illini Country Club. Mrs. von Behren was co-owner of R.E. von Behren & Sons Builders. Mary Louise was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. of Springfield, three daughters: Vicki (husband, Ken) Vahrenhold of Florissant, MO., Donna M. Caton of Springfield and Jean (husband, Allen) Milne of Tucson, AZ., three sons: Michael J. (wife, Cheri) von Behren of Springfield, Reverend Thomas R. von Behren, C.S.V. of Arlington Heights, IL and William E. (wife, Kathleen) von Behren of Manhattan Beach, CA., ten grandchildren: Tim Vahrenhold, Kristi Glover, Steven, Colleen and Brian Caton, Melissa Brown, Jason Milne and Matthew, Meghan and Katie von Behren and eleven great grandchildren. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4- 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2003 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Thomas von Behren, C.S.V. principal celebrant.
