

Marylin Joan Burgar, 66, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on March 1, 1949 in Springfield to James and Evelyn Merry Todd. She married James Burgar on February 16, 1983 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2011.
Marylin is survived by three sons: Gerald Matulis, James (Keri) Matulis, and Michael (Cynthia) Matulis all of Springfield, seven grandchildren: Brittany Matulis, Amber Matulis, Rylie Matulis, Chelsey Matulis, Dalton Matulis, Justin Fagan and Kasey Canoy, four great-grandchildren: Austin Vono, Kaidynce McGillicuddy, Dantiee Burke and Sabastian Fagan, two brothers: Robert and Jack Todd, two sisters: Catherine Hagelmeier, and Jean Ann Harbour and her brother-in-law Bob Shultz. She was preceded in death by her brothers James and Gene Todd, and sisters: Phyllis Graves, Bertha Shultz, and Christine Shields.
Mrs. Burgar enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. She was involved with the Southend Reunion Committee and above all she cherished the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren.
The family will meet friends for a visitation on Thursday May 7, 2015 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, from 10:00am until 1:00pm. A Celebration of Life Gathering will follow the visitation on Thursday at the Sangamo Surf Club, 405 East Lake Shore Drive.
