Michele H. Tabacchi, age 79 passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at her residence. She was born on May 21, 1946 in Decatur, Illinois to Kenneth Higdon and Sara Gorman Higdon. Michele married George Tabacchi and he preceded her in death in 2014.
She is survived by her children: Gina (spouse Ed) Canny of Springfield, IL., and Brent (spouse Mandy Bowling) Tabacchi of Dayton, OH., four grandchildren: Sara (spouse Tyler) O'Shea, Ryan Canny, Ellis Tabacchi & Ada Tabacchi, two siblings: Maureen Kapp & Mike Higdon, one cousin and several sister and brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Michele owned a woodworking business along with husband. She worked several years at the Richland Community College Bookstore in Decatur. Michele enjoyed Irish History, current events, and spending time with her grandkids.
Cremation rites were accorded.
