Nancy Ann DeVault

Nancy Ann DeVault, 68, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at St. John's Hospital.

She was born February 5, 1946 in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence and Alice Dahlkamp Ashbaker. She married Kenneth DeVault Sr. December 1, 1966 in Springfield, and he survives. Her parents preceded her in death.

Also surviving are her 2 sons; Kenneth (wife Julie) DeVault Jr., and Rick (wife Angela) DeVault both of Springfield, her grandchildren; Andrew (wife Melissa) DeVault of Kincaid, IL, Monica DeVault, Dakota DeVault, and Bethaney DeVault all of Springfield, her brother, James (wife Barb) Ashbaker of Dawson, IL and her sister, Pat (husband Robert) Degner of Buffalo Hart, IL. She has several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy worked for Horace Mann Insurance co for several years, and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Human Rights in 2002. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church ELCA in Springfield.

She loved to spend time with her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved to crochet, cook, go shopping, attend auctions and collecting jewelry. Nancy loved to travel to Las Vegas. She also liked to go to Harrah's in St. Louis.

The family will host a memorial visitation on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 2-5 pm at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL.

Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of donor's choice.
