Nancy Lee Midden

Nancy Lee Jenkins Gifford Midden, 74, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born November 15, 1937 in Springfield, the daughter of Vernon and Mary Kelly Jenkins. She married William Gifford and later married C. Louis Midden, who preceded her in death on May 25, 2006. Nancy received her Associate's Degree from Lincoln Land Community College. She worked as an office manager for Dr. Fiersten, DDS. Nancy was a loving, selfless, and generous mother, gram, and sister. She adored her grandchildren, and they spent many special times together. She is survived by her son, Gregory (wife, Chris) Gifford of Springfield; one daughter, Karen (husband, Ed) Luster of Springfield; three grandchildren, Frances, Mitchell and Emma; siblings, Sue Moyer, Judy Hoppie, Jeanie Fink, Sally Regan Hatfield, Ellen Sampson, Vickie McMann, Julie Miller, John Jenkins, David Jenkins and Tom Jenkins; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, with whom she was very close. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilou Draper. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
