

Ned A. Padget, 69, of Herrin, formerly of Springfield, died at 12:37 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Herrin Hospital. Ned was born August 25, 1947 in Springfield, the son of Ebert and Marylou Pettit Padget. He married Pamela Lawrence on April 21, 2001 in Neoga, IL. Ned proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a bar owner, previously owning and operating Shane's and Silver Dollar. Ned was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1301 in Marion, IL. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Ned was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Padget, Sr.; and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Pamela of Herrin; sons, Shane (fiance, Michele Bearss) Padget of Herrin and Michael Padget of OK; daughters, Angela Padget-Miller (wife, Janae Miller) of Springfield and Terry Lynn Greenwood of Quincy; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Joyce (husband, Jim) Norman of Springfield, Sheila, (husband, Gene) Gabriel of Rochester, David (wife, Terri) Padget of Athens, and Paul Padget of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with Pastor William Newton officiating.
