Olga R.M. Noreuil

Olga was born on April 28, 1928, in Kincaid, IL, the daughter of John Batista and Gratina (Romanetto) Allione. She married Oscar Noreuil Jr, her high school sweetheart on July 4, 1948, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1995, of Lou Gehig’s disease.

Olga was a graduate of Kincaid High School and Brown’s Business College. She worked as a stenographer for an insurance company in Springfield, IL and was the secretary to the Athletic Director at Arkansas State University, while Oscar was earning his degree.

Olga was a full-time mother for a number of years, raising ten successful children. She returned to work in Medical Records at SIU School of Medicine in 1982, retiring from SIU in 1992.

Olga was a former member of St Rita’s Church in Kincaid, and Christ the King and Blessed Sacrament parishes in Springfield, IL. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with her large family.

In addition to her husband, Olga was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margaret Noblet.

Olga is survived by her children, Shelley Wilson of Upland, CA, Ginger Maes of Pawnee Rock, KS, Nicholas (Susan) Noreuil of Cedar Rapids, IA, Scott (Margaret) Noreuil of Oregon, WI, Jill (Jesse Hsieh) Noreuil of South Bend, IN, Nancy Keil of Duluth, GA, Todd (Kim) Noreuil of Verona, WI, Tim Noreuil of Portland, OR, Tina Armstrong of Clinton, IL and Oscar “Skip” (Melody) Noreuil III of CA; 26 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Gathering and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield, until the time of the ceremony at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Pius Nwiyi, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee, IL.
