

She was born on June 7, 1942, in Gary, IN, the daughter of Earl and Louise (Walls) Thompson.
Patricia graduated from Lanphier High School in 1960. She got married, moved to Sacramento, CA, and started her career. In 1969, Pat moved back to Springfield to take care of her grandparents and gave birth to her daughter, Jamie. She started working at Roosevelt National Life and became Executive Secretary before retiring after 40 years of dedication.
Patricia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved crocheting, ceramics, reading books, monthly meals with her friends from Roosevelt, and monthly calls to Vivi. She loved laughing, singing in the choir at Clementine, mowing her lawn, playing cards, playing Bunco, teaching Caravan, loving her dog, Jasper, taking many trips to Goodwill, and sitting in her sunny driveway with her neighbors and life-long friends; including Delta, Carol, Jim, and Sharon. She was a member of Springfield’s First Church of the Nazarene for many years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, James L. and Grace A. (Owens) Walls; parents; brother, James Thompson; sister-in-law, Sharon Thompson; nephew, James Thompson II; and her only cousin, Marilyn (Walls) Hammer, whom she loved dearly.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Jerry) Stone; grandchildren, Clara (Charles) Kapp and JR (Amy) Stone; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jenna, and CJ; nieces, Lisa (Jim) Wyzard and Tami (Richard) Schafer; great-nieces Tara, Tessa, Tiffany, Abby, Sarah, Hazeldel, and Sierra, great-nephew, Craig “Bub” Thompson; and honorary son, Butchie Stone.
Cremation will be provided after the services by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 17th, from 2:00pm to 4:45pm, with funeral service following at 5:00pm. Services are at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL, with Pastor Ben Alexander officiating.
