

Paul A. Ellington, 83, of Springfield, died at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Paul was born June 12, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, the son of William and Lela Goodwin Ellington. He married Ruth Ferguson on April 16, 1954 at Greenville Presbyterian Church; she preceded him in death on December 17, 2014. Paul was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church for over 40 years, and a member of the Fifth Presbyterian Church for 20 years before that. He was devoted to his loving wife of 60 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Goodwin Ellington; one sister, Margaret Ellington; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Paulauskis. He is survived by one son, David (wife, Jamie) Ellington of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Sue (husband, John) Paulauskis of Maryville; three grandchildren, Gina (husband, Brad) Lockwood of Franklin, WI, and Lauren and Glenn Ellington, both of St. Louis, MO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:15 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Third Presbyterian Church, 1030 N. 7th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Third Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Brent Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
