

He was born on September 25, 1990, the son of Tim and Lisa (Pryor) Oltman. He married Caitlin Smith on March 26, 2010.
Paul was currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had been deployed twice, to Afghanistan from Oct. 2010 to March 2011, and later to Okinawa from Feb. 2014 to Aug. 2014. He was a member of Hope Church in Springfield. Paul was an avid Bears fan. During his school days he was active in the FFA, multiple sports, became an Eagle Scout in Troop 27 in 2008, and graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 2009. He was also active at the Theater in the Park at New Salem, IL and the Springfield Theater Center in his youth.
He is survived by his wife Caitlin Oltman of Ashland, IL; 2 children Hunter James Oltman and Esme Marie Oltman, both of Ashland, IL; his parents Tim and Lisa Oltman of Pleasant Plains, IL; a brother Timothy (wife Heather) Oltman, Jr. of Louisville, KY; a sister Margaret (husband Ryan Melchin) Oltman of Springfield; his grandmother Stella Pryor of Cisne, IL; and step-grandmother Barbara Murphy of Alton, IL.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandfathers James Pryor of Alton, IL and Donald Oltman of Creve Coeur, IL.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West. 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield where a memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10 am at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Mills officiating. Military honors will then follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
Memorials may be made to an organization that provides treatment to veterans suffering from PTSD.
