

Peggy was born on April 25, 1947, in Springfield, the daughter of Reesor and Evelyn (Pyle) Farley. She married James H. Doggett on August 16, 1974. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2009.
Peggy worked at Aramark Uniform Services and retired after 43 years of employment. She loved camping at and supporting Lincoln Trail Family Campground, formerly known as Deer Park. Peggy was a social butterfly, enjoyed her beer, dancing, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.; her parents; stepfather, Walt Brown; and siblings, Doug, Judy, Lyman and Betty Lou.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Terri (David) Burtsfield of Varna; granddaughter, Breanna (Daniel Hale) Turley of Mackinaw; brother, Russ Farley of Pensacola, FL; sister, Barb Fox of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
