

Peggy Jo Yeaman McLaughlin, 83, of Springfield, died at 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Reflections Memory Care in Chatham. Peggy was born June 24, 1935, in Springfield, the daughter of Alvey and Fern Barbre Yeaman. She married George McLaughlin on June 13, 1953, in Springfield. Peggy graduated from Feitshans High School and owned and operated McLaughlin Catering. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and her greatest accomplishment was raising her five wonderful children. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her husband, George McLaughlin of Springfield; sons, George Jr. (Linda) of VA, Gary (Theresa) of NC, and Greg (Pam) of Springfield; daughters, Gayla Todd of NC and Gina (Robb) Schurman of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Ceremony: 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Richard Chiola officiating. A memorial gathering will follow until 7:00 p.m. Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. Richard Chiola officiating.
