

He was born to John J. and Virginia C. Kennedy on January 25, 1958, in Galesburg, Illinois.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, Robert James Kennedy of San Clemente California.
He is survived by his eight siblings: Kristine Fries of Springfield, Timothy J. Kennedy & spouse, Cathy of North Lake, Texas, Janice Darling & spouse, David of Williamsville, IL, Barbara Lester & spouse, Mike of Lincoln, IL, Bernadette Emery & spouse, Walt of Springfield, David Kennedy & spouse, Sandy of Springfield, Joyce Musselman & spouse, Rick of Springfield, and Patrick Kennedy & spouse, Sheny of Yorba Linda, CA.
Phil was employed at the Illinois State Museum for many years and recently retired.
Phil, as his friends and family called him, was a fun, lovable and humorous guy who had a smile for everyone. He had an artistic eye and appreciated many of the artifacts and art he so proudly displayed at the Illinois State Museum. Phil loved to cook wonderful, creative meals for family and friends. Phil was known to his siblings as the "impersonator extraordinaire" as he studied each of them and gave an amazingly accurate impersonation of each.
Phil will be dearly missed by his many friends and family members.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for family at a later date.
