Phyllis M. Evans

Phyllis M. Evans, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 at Capitol Healthcare. She was born on December 12, 1925 in Petersburg to Frank and Mabel Hughes Wiseman. Phyllis married Chester J. Evans and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1970.

She is survived by two sons: Norm (Peggy) Evans and Bruce (Kristy) Evans both of Springfield and three grandchildren: Aaron Evans, Christen (Fiance Ryan Trosley) Creamer both of Springfield and Ron (Kori) Evans of Virden. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Phyllis worked for the Illinois Secretary of State Microfilm Department for thirty years. She was a lifelong Chicago Cubs Fan who enjoyed shuffleboard and she loved her cats. The family is requesting that all Cub fans wear their favorite Cubs attire and other sports fans are encouraged to wear shirts of their favorite team.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday July 23, 2015 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4:00-6:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
