

Raymond P. Ford, Jr., 83, of Springfield, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Ford was born in Springfield on July 8, 1917, the son of Raymond P. and Ella L. Ehlert Ford, Sr. He married Marie E. Woodson at Ss. Peter and Paul Church on July 15, 1950 and she survives. He was a production foreman for Sangamo Electric and retired from Sangamo Electric in 1975 after 34 years of service. He was a graduate of Cathedral Boys High School, a member of Holy Name Society, Sangamo Electric Retirees, and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Mr. Ford also received the St. George Award from Bishop McNicholas after 49 years of service to the Boy Scouts. Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister: Dorothy Hardy in 1996. He is survived by his wife Marie of Springfield; a son: Thomas Michael Ford of Springfield; a daughter: Patricia (husband,Charles) Pint of Evanston, IL; two grandchildren of Evanston, IL; two sisters: Mary Jane Curry of Bloomington, IL, and Catherine (husband,Thomas) Lovell of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2001 with a Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 9 a.m. with the Rev. John R. Ossola principal celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception 524 E. Lawrence, P.O.
