

Richard L. “Rick” Cartwright, 44, of Jacksonville, died at 5:55 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Passavant Hospital E.R. He was born on October 21, 1961 in Springfield, the son of Leland C. and Norma J. Connelly Cartwright. He was previously employed with the Springfield Park District and Capital Records in Jacksonville. He also served in the United States Army. Rick was a sweet, and considerate gentleman who enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by three sons: Richard Lee “Buddy” Cartwright, Jr., Christopher Cartwright and Alex Cartwright; two daughters: Sharon Cartwright and Mary Cartwright; his mother: Norma Logue of Springfield; three brothers: Charles (wife, Candace) Cartwright of Auburn, John (wife, Maryann) Cartwright of Springfield and Kevin (wife, Missy) Cartwright also of Springfield; two uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev. Robert J. Jallas officiating. Visitation will follow the Funeral Ceremonies until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 1305 Wabash, Suite J., Springfield, IL 62704.
