

Rita Ann Tank, 67, of Springfield, passed away at 5:03 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. John's Hospital. Rita was born May 18, 1943 in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Magdalen "Sis" House. Rita was a graduate of St. Patrick's Grade School and a 1962 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She retired from Northfield Inn & Suites in 2003 after serving for many years in hospitality. Rita was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Church where she dedicated much of her time. Rita was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and volunteering for Helping Hands. One of her greatest joys was writing and receiving little notes to and from her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Kay House and a nephew, Robert "Bobby" House. She is survived by two sons, Timothy Tank of Belvidere and Anthony Tank of Springfield; two daughters, Teresa (husband, Matthew) Moustakas of Palos Heights and Milissa Heidi (husband, David) Holland of Mansfield, TX; mother, Magdalen "Sis" House of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Michelle and TJ Tank, Trace, Taryn and Thane Moustakas and Emily and Madeleine Holland; three brothers, Robert "Bob" (wife, Sandra) House, Edward "Ed" (wife, Cindy) House and William "Bill" House, all of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, three great-nephews, one great-niece, and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service. A Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 N. Milton Ave., Springfield with Rev. Christopher House and Rev. Richard Chiola, celebrants. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
