Rob E. Rulison

Robert "Rob" E. Rulison, 57, of Springfield, died at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Rob was born on September 17, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Edgar R. "Bob" and Mary Joan Powell Rulison. Rob graduated from Lanphier High School, class of 1977. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for CMS for the State of Illinois for 20 years. Rob was a warm hearted and highly intelligent man who was very skilled with electronics. He loved music and enjoyed playing guitar in a band with his brother when they were younger. Rob loved challenges, building speakers, other electronics, and jumping out of airplanes. Rob was preceded in death by his father; and nephews, Joshua and Nathan Hoffman. He is survived by his mother, Joan Rulison; siblings, Cherlynn Hoffman of Chatham and Steven (wife, Diane) Rulison of Jerseyville; several nieces; one nephew; and several cousins. Cremation was provided prior to ceremonies by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield, until the time of the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. with Rev.
