Robert Howard Dickey

Robert Howard Dickey, 73, of Springfield, died at 2:10 a.m., Monday, January 03, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Robert was born March 15, 1931 in Glenarm the son of Walter and Bessie Ferguson Dickey. He married E. Janet Pfister, January 16, 1960 in Ridgway, IL. Mr. Dickey was a graduate of Ball Township High School. He retired from the Illinois Army National Guard as a CWO4 in 1985 after 38 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post 755 and American Legion Post 32 and had attended St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents He is survived by his wife: E. Janet of Springfield; two daughters: Sheila (husband, Rob) Kil of Springfield, Cindy (husband, Mark) Bartolozzi of Glenarm; one son: Kevin (wife, Monica) Dickey of Springfield; eight grandchildren; one sister: Mary Ann (husband, Charles) Young of Glenarm; one brother: Dale (wife, Mary) Dickey of Gillette, WY and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Robert J. Jallas officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
