Robert "Larry" Grove

He was born on September 22, 1942, in Beardstown, IL, the son of Cloyce S. and Ruth M. (Rogers) Grove. Robert married Carol Ingoldsby on May 1, 2004, in Chatham, IL.

Larry attended Feitshans High School. He was a longtime member of Union Local 137-plumbers, pipefitters, steamfitters, and refrigeration fitters. Larry worked as an HVAC technician for Punzak for over 30 years. He also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in 1960. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed cooking meals - especially fish frys, BBQ, and sharing his smoked briskets at cookouts with his family and friends. He also loved telling jokes, tending to his garden, watching auto races, and traveling on road trips.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Steve Grove; and sisters, Nola DeMeuse and Sharleen Robison.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Mike (Christy) Grove of Springfield; daughters, Pam Kink of Springfield and Sue (Paul) Lederbrand of Pawnee, and Pam (Chad) Keafer of Arkansas; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Uhlry of Muncie, IN, Stephanie (Andy) Malcolm of Rockford, Justin (Caitlin) Kink of Rockford, Rebecca Davis of St. Louis, Aaron (fiancé, Bethany) Lederbrand of Pawnee, and Bailey and Riley Keafer, both of Arkansas; sister, Karen (Jack) Hart of Tampa, FL; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Scott Nichols officiating. Military honors will be provided.
