Robert Loren Jett, 71, of Chatham, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1943 in Springfield, IL to the late Thomas Edward and Myrtle Florence Ummel Jett. Bob married Kathleen Anne Watson on January 17, 1995. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Ronald. Bob worked as a mechanic for construction equipment for many years before becoming ill. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and after his illness, became a movie buff and enjoyed playing video games. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Sarah Jett, of Chatham and son, James Jett of Nevada; sons Steven Jett and Donald Jett and daughter, Rebecca (Keith) Rebbe; several nieces, nephews and cousins. His family will greet friends from 10am until the time of the service at 11am, Tuesday, December 16, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund for his daughter, Sarah.
