He was born in Springfield on September 15, 1946, the son of Browning and Christina (Loreth) Jonaitis. Robert married Sandra Hays in Springfield on October 23, 1971.
Robert graduated from Lanphier High School with the class of 1964. He retired from CWLP after 31 years. In his spare time, Robert took great joy in working on projects, mowing the lawn, and checking tasks off his to-do list. Above all, he deeply cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Jonaitis; and sister, Marilyn Fromm.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra Jonaitis of Springfield; daughter, Kristi (Bill) Blankenship of Springfield; grandchildren, William (Meghan) Blankenship of Austin, TX, Korey Blankenship of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kyle Blankenship of Springfield; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Alexander, and Rosie.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family will be hosting the burial and celebration of life at a later date.
