

Rosaline "Rose" Cordier, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Regency Nursing Home. Rose was born June 20, 1929 in Mt. Olive, IL, the daughter of John and Anna Yoursavich Biscan. She married Charles Cordier in January of 1954 in Mt. Olive, IL; he preceded her in death. Rose graduated high school in Mt. Olive, IL. She had over a 30 year career with St. John's Hospital as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always had a smile on her face and a wave of her hand. She enjoyed bingo, playing games, poker, bunko, and some casino gambling. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charles Mark Cordier; and eight siblings, Marko, Annie, Herminia, Mary, James, Emil, Joseph, and Donald. She is survived by her son, John (wife, Cathy) Cordier of Springfield; three grandchildren, Cara (husband, James) Handlin, Andrew (wife, Brittany) Cordier, and Gregory (significant other, Kourtlyn Chambers) Cordier; two step-grandchildren, Kyley (husband, Caleb) Reger and Sara Kendrick; twelve great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Ariah, J.J., Brandi, Taylor, Bailey, Alexa, Grace, Evelyn, Allayna, Caiden, and Cash; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
