Rose Mary Irvin

Rose Mary Irvin, 93, of Springfield, passed away at the Regency Nursing Residence on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Rose was born March 24, 1920 in Springfield to Joseph and Anna Simanella George. She married James Victor Irvin in 1941, and he preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Irvin was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jasper, James and Joseph George. Rose was a member of Calvary Temple Christian Center. She served diners for 25 years as a waitress at the well known restaurant, the Supper Club. Mrs. Irvin is survived by her sons, James Joseph (Linda) Irvin of Evanston, IL and Bruce Gregory (Lorraine) Irvin of Schaumburg, IL; grandchildren, Jeffery, Jerlee, Vance (Stephanie) Irvin, and Katherine (Srikant) Montravadi; great grandchildren Genesis Rose, Sallah and Solomon Montravadi; sister Florence C. Fry of Springfield; brother, Sundino (Jacquelin) George of Riverton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Her family will greet friends from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM, Monday, September 23, at Calvary Temple Christian Center, 1730 West Jefferson Street, Springfield, IL 62702 with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, is serving the Irvin family.
