

Rosie was born on February 9, 1947 in Quincy, the daughter of John and Elizabeth “Betty” Feld Holtschlag. She married James H. McCormick in 1966 at Church of the Little Flower.
Rosie worked at District 186 as a Health Tech and retired as a Cafeteria Manager. She was very proud of her family, having raised three kind-hearted children and adored her husband of 53 years. Rosie taught her children and grandchildren that success is measured in friendships. She was an accomplished hairdresser and known for her cooking, especially her caramels and chicken noodle soup. Her cooking inspired her son Jarred to begin a family food service business. Rosie also enjoyed visiting with friends at their home in Scottsdale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim, Donald, and Joe Holtschlag; and sister, Joann Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, James H. “Jim” McCormick of Springfield; three children, Beth Nestler of Springfield, Jarred (wife, Sarah) McCormick of Springfield, and Jacob (wife, Kristen) McCormick of Columbia Falls, MT; 8 grandchildren, Sofia, Anthony, and Marie Nestler, Jarred, Jr., Ella, Mila, Blaise, and Lela McCormick; and 11 siblings, John Holtschlag, Jr., Janet Woerman, Jane Graham, June (husband, Bill) Stanger, Susie (husband, Jim) Huffmyer, Barb (husband, Clarence) Connors, Debbie (husband, Joe) Midiri, Jeff (wife, Carol) Holtschlag, Donna (husband, Travis) Wollbrink, Jerry (wife, Kim) Holtschlag, and Jack (wife, Lori) Holtschlag.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 North Amos Avenue, Springfield with Rev. Daniel Bergbower, celebrant.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Private burial will be held at a later date.
