

She was born March 10, 1936 in Jonesboro, Ark., the daughter of John Fletcher Cox and Helen Wood Henderson Cox.
Mrs. Buckley was a graduate of Morrilton High School in Morrilton, Ark. She attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO where she graduated with a Bachelor in Science degree. During summer months she worked as a Recreation counselor at Winrock (Rockefeller Farm and Convention Center on Petit Jean Mountain in Ark. where she taught swimming, diving, and horseback riding to children of Rockefeller guest. She also served as a nanny to young Win Rockefeller.
After college she worked as a Laboratory Technician at the University Of Arkansas School Of Medicine in Little Rock, Ark. She went on to work and retired from Arkansas State Government, where she worked as a Social Worker in the Area of Children Services. Mrs. Buckley assumed management responsibility at the Maternal Child Clinic for the Dept. of Family and Community Medicine at Southern Illinois University Medical School in Springfield, IL. After retirement from the Medical School, she developed and ran the Indigent Pharmaceutical Program at Kumler Ministries.
Mrs. Buckley was a member of the American Association of University Women and King’s Daughters. She also loved horseback riding, swimming and reading.
She is survived by her husband H. Dickson Buckley; two sons, Neil Fletcher (wife, Emma) Wilson of Hyattsville, MD and John Hannahs Wilson, M.D. of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Julia Bell of Schaumburg, IL and Mary Fletcher Branch of Tampa, FL; one brother, John (wife, Cele) Cox of Layton, Utah; three step-children, Ann Buckley (husband, Brian) Turner of Moore, SC , Mark Dickson (wife, Betsy) Buckley of Brookfield, IL and Scott David (wife,Lori) Buckley of Chicago; three nieces; one nephew; one grand niece; and five step grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Hospice Program at Memorial Home Services, 720 North Bond Street, Springfield, IL 62702.
