She was born on May 22, 1947, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Frederick “Bud” and Irene (Ellis) Landgrebe. She married Patrick Armstrong on September 15, 1973 in Springfield and he survives.
Sandra worked as an executive secretary for Child Care Association of Illinois in Springfield, retiring in 2007. She was a very active member of South Side Christian Church in Springfield. She was involved in the Central IL Walk to Emmaus, Habitat for Humanity, and was a volunteer at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.
Besides her husband Patrick, she is survived by 2 daughters, Mary (husband Jim) Fields of Pleasant Plains, IL, and Hannah Sue Armstrong of Springfield; 3 grandchildren, Megan, Patrick, and Joshua Fields; 4 siblings, Donna (husband Bob) Morris of Sherman, IL, Gary (wife Kay) Landgrebe of Springfield, Diane (husband Bill) Lomprez of Springfield, and Kenny (Jill) Landgrebe of Springfield; 1 brother-in-law Mike (wife Vicky) Armstrong of Chatham, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son F unreal Home, Springfield. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 9 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am at South Side Christian Church. The funeral service will also be held at the church, with Pastor Brooks Wilson and Pastor Bob Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Soringfield.
Memorials may be made to Central IL Walk to Emmaus Organization or the Lincoln Land Downs Syndrome Society.
