

Sharon was born December 18, 1937, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of William D. Conwill and Irene (Picco) Kearney.
Sharon attended Little Flower grade school and graduated from Ursuline Academy, class of 1956, in Springfield, IL. She retired from the City of Springfield where she was a parking meter enforcer for over 20 years. Sharon’s faith and family were a very important part of her life. She attended St. Agnes regularly, was a part of the Altar Society and My Samaritan organizations and volunteered for over 10 years as a Samaritan with St. John’s. She also worked in the cafeteria at St. Agnes. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Sharon loved Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She loved traveling, spending time with friends, going to the flea market, listening to church music, and angels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene; stepfather, John Kearney; sons, John and Albert Homer; brother, Norman Conwill; and grandson, Michael Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Homer, Katherine Smith, and Debra Homer all of Springfield; Partner, Jim Hildebrand; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one niece; and several cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield, IL 62703. Pastor Calvin Miller will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
