Shilaben Patel

November 15, 1958 – November 5, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shilaben Vinodchandra Patel, beloved wife, and mother, who left us on November 5, 2024, at the age of 65.

Shila was born on November 15, 1958, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to Dahyabhai and Gangaben. Her early years were shaped by a strong sense of family and community, values she carried with her throughout her life. After spending her childhood and early years in India, Shila moved to the United States and built a life that was centered around her love for her family.

Shila was a devoted mother to her two children, Meera and Tarang, who were the pride and joy of her life. She often said that their births transformed her life in the most beautiful way, and they, in turn, knew no greater source of love and support than their mother. Her unwavering care and nurturing spirit were the foundation of her family’s happiness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vinodchandra Patel, with whom she shared a beautiful life and deep partnership. Shila leaves behind her daughter, Meera Patel, and son-in-law Dikshil Patel, as well as her son, Tarang Patel, and daughter-in-law Neely Patel. Her family will forever cherish the immense love, warmth, and joy she brought into their lives.

Shila’s gentle and compassionate nature, combined with her selfless dedication to her loved ones, left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her. Her family and friends will remember her not only for her kindness, but for her enduring strength and wisdom. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, who find comfort in knowing that the world is better for having had her in it. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
