Sister Peggy Conway, O.P., 50, a Dominican Sister of Springfield for 25 years, died December 23, 2013. She was born to Francis Patrick (Dink) and Sallie Sheehan Conway in Springfield, IL. For 12 years Sister Peggy taught in Catholic parish elementary schools: St. Christina, Chicago; Holy Angels, Aurora; and St. Thomas, Philo. After receiving a Master's degree in theology in 2002, Sister taught theology at Sacred Heart Griffin High School. Sister Peggy was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Sallie Conway Dixon; two sisters, Mary Pat (Noel) Dalbey and Nancy Davlin (Tom Zelasko) of Springfield; and two brothers, Frank (Sharon) of Rochester and Kevin of Springfield; two nephews and four nieces. Visitation: Sacred Heart Griffin High School Dominican Hall, 1200 W. Washington St. from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2013, with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Sacred Heart Convent, 1237 W. Monroe St., with Rev. Peter Witchousky, OP, presiding, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dominican Sisters Retirement Fund, 1237 W.
