Stephen Joseph Fischer, 61, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his home. Stephen was born October 27, 1956 in Normandy, MO, the son of Richard K. and Rosemary Walch Fischer. Stephen graduated from Normandy High School. He was a member of Heat & Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local #1 in St. Louis, MO, and H.I.C.K.S. His favorite pastimes included golfing, fishing, grilling, and watching the Missouri Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Blues. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Richard Fischer; and two brothers, Laurence and Richard Fischer. He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Fischer of Normandy, MO; sons, Stephen L. Fischer (Avery) of Cincinnati, OH and Brian R. Fischer (Kelly Pruitt-Cade) of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Nora Fischer and Kinsey Pruitt; and siblings, Thomas, Mary, Roseanne, Barbara, and Christine. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield with Rev. Robert J. Jallas officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
