Susie was born June 5, 1959 in Springfield, the daughter of Jack and Judy Booth Barber. She married John Preece on October 15, 1999 in Ellicott City, MD.
Susie worked as a cake decorator and pastry chef. She is survived by her husband, John Preece of Chatham; parents, Jack and Judy Barber of Glenarm; sister, Debbie Barber of Chatham; two brothers, Bill (wife, Laurie) Barber of Aliso Viejo, CA, Tom (wife, Kim) Barber of Carlinville; aunt, Nancy Barber of Springfield, cousins, Bob and Marnie Barber of Jacksonville, and Ann and Mark Colgrove of Ashland, MO; best friend, Donna Gozik of Marriottsville, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Fancy Creek Cemetery.
