A graduate of Malden High School and an honors graduate of Robert Morris College, Tammi began her career at the Illinois Department of Revenue before dedicating her time to raising her children. On August 26, 2000, she married the love of her life, David W. Tretter, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield.
She is survived by her husband, David; their beloved sons, Grant James and Jackson David, all of Springfield, IL; her mother, Marilyn Fiddler of Springfield, IL; her brother, Craig (Nicole) Morris of Chapel Hill, NC; and nephews Evan, Wesley, and Harrison Morris.
Tammi was a positive force in her family’s life and unconditionally loved her extended, close knit family—cherishing her cousins, aunts, uncles, and especially her young nieces and nephews. She loved and supported her husband in his many endeavors. Her children were the center of her world, raising them to become well-rounded individuals by encouraging independent thinking, hard-working, involved in sports, and treating others with respect and compassion. She embraced both her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as her own siblings.
Her radiant smile and warm laughter were a constant presence—whether she was cheering on her sons at the athletic fields, enjoying time on the lake, or gathering with her beloved “Tea Girls.” She will be reunited with her maternal grandmother, Barbara Keeble, a guiding influence throughout her life.
We will forever miss the love, joy, and strength Tammi brought to all of us, which will carry on in her spirit—comforted in knowing she is no longer in pain.
