

Tammy J. Jett, 59, of Springfield, died at 12:25 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at St. Johns Hospital. Tammy was born August 5, 1959, in Mattoon, the daughter of Charles C.T. and Dolores E. Clements Brown. She married David E. Jett on February 28, 1994, in Springfield. Tammy graduated from Southeast High School in 1977 and attended cosmetology school. She was a self-employed cosmetologist and owned and operated Cuts & Curls Hairstylist. Tammy was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and the Blue Ridge Club. She loved her cats, jigsaw puzzles, shopping, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles "Doug", Terry, and Rodney Brown; and niece, Sarah Hayes. Tammy is survived by her husband, David E. Jett of Springfield; brothers, Steve (wife, Karen) Brown of Springfield and Brett (wife, Diana) Brown of Girard, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved furbabies, Smidgen, T.J., Tony, and Kasey. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Tozer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62702.
