

He was born on October 2, 1941, in Springfield, IL, the son of John E. and Carmelia (Sicilia) Adams. Thomas married Margaret “Peggy” O’Laughlin on February 23, 1963, in Springfield.
Thomas graduated from Springfield High School in 1959 and earned his associate’s degree from Springfield College. He went on to work in sales and management at Bunn-O-Matic, from which he retired. Thomas was a member of the Church of the Little Flower since 1965. He enjoyed fishing and cabin life since childhood and was instrumental in the creation of the Glenwood High School Soccer program. Thomas was known as a family man – a devoted, loving husband and father, and was a positive contributor to the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John “Jack” Adams, Jr.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Peggy Adams of Springfield; sons, Robert (Ute Prohaska), David, Thomas (Terri), and Marc Adams; grandchildren, Zak, Emilee, Nicholas, Isabella, Miranda, and Harper; brother, Mike (Mary) Adams; and sister-in-law, Sharon Adams.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, followed by the Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Kemme, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
