Thomas Wanless Beard

He was born on September 30, 1966, in Springfield, the son of Charles R. and Elizabeth Lanphier Beard.

Thomas graduated from Springfield High School and attended SIU Carbondale. He went on to work in customer relations in the automotive industry. Thomas enjoyed listening to music of all kinds, playing the guitar, reading, and watching Chicago Bears football games. He loved vacationing in Pentwater, MI, and spending time with his family and his dogs. Thomas was known to be very bright and was adored by all of his friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; brother, Charles Henson Beard; stepfather, John “Jack” Crosby; and uncles, Lou Reed and Joe Strummer.

Thomas is survived by his mother, Elizabeth L. Crosby; brothers, John (Teresa) Beard and Pete (Carrie) Beard; special aunt, Susan L. Kelley; stepmother, Susan Beard; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
