Thomas Edward Beverly

Tom was born on October 25, 1949, in Toledo, OH, the son of Thomas C. and Juanita (Chambers) Beverly. He married Phyllis Heckler on February 15, 1980, she preceded him in death on September 6, 2015. Tom married Carla K. Clementz on September 23, 2017.

Tom went to both Springfield High School and Chatham Glenwood High School. In his early years, he was a self-employed builder. Tom then became an insurance agent with John Hancock and retired from sales with Wolters Kluwer in 2014. He was an acoustic guitarist and also played harmonica. Tom enjoyed fishing, brewing beer, gardening, and was quite the storyteller.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen G. Beverly; his wife, Phyllis Beverly; his parents; and brothers, Kevin and Michael Beverly.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Beverly of Glenarm; five children, April Bridges, Thomas (wife, Carmen) Beverly, Heather (husband, Jason) Konzelmann, Dylan Beverly and Lauren (husband, Zack) Zimmermann; eight grandchildren, Nathan Beverly, Katrina Beverly, Keegan Bridges, Summer Bridges, Shelby (husband, Brandon) Lucas, Jayden Beverly, Carly Konzelmann and Audrey Konzelmann; and three siblings, Steven (wife, Connie) Beverly, Elizabeth (husband, Ron) Ott, and Kenny (wife, Maureen) Beverly.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering: DUE TO THURSDAY'S STORM DAMAGE. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at BUTLER FUNERAL HOME-SPRINGFIELD, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Oogies & JJ’s, 10041 Palm Road Glenarm, IL.
