Thomas Vincent Colby

Tom was born in Lincoln, IL to Arthur William Colby and Louise Eileen (Coates) Colby Davis. Tom attended Lincoln Community High School and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1973. After he graduated college, Tom and a friend rode their Harley Davidson motorcycles to Colorado where he lived two years before returning to Springfield. He was then employed by E & F Distributing for 36 years until he retired. He loved riding motorcycles and took several cross-county motorcycle trips with his friends. Golf was another passion and he participated in many golf vacations with his friends and brother-in-law, Jeff. Tom also was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He and Hallie loved traveling to Caribbean islands and to Ireland. Tom always loved having a good time and being surrounded by family and friends. Tom dearly loved his fiancée, Hallie, his daughter, Alexa and his four sisters. He was forever grateful to his good friend Scottie Watkins who was always there for him.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his fiancée, Hallie Pierceall, of Springfield, IL; a daughter, Alexa Colby of Neenah, WI; and four sisters, Barbara (Jeff) Pirmann of Springfield, IL, Carol (Dean) Kaesebier of Fairhope, AL, Ann (Bob) Bishop of St. Augustine, FL, and Joy (Terry) Blum of Tabernash, CO; many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Trixie and Daizy.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at D’Arcy’s Pint, 661 W. Stanford Ave, Springfield, IL 62704 on Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 2:00 until 6:00 pm. Remembrances from friends will be shared.
