

Thomas L. Kelly, Jr. died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2000 in Springfield, Illinois. Mr. Kelly was born in Springfield, December 3, 1927, the son of the late Margaret (Sullivan) Kelly and Thomas L. Kelly, Sr. He was a residential real estate appraiser for the Federal housing Administration for over 30 years and self employed in the field at the time of his death. For many years Mr. Kelly was a CPL of the Illinois National Guard. Preceding him in death were his parents, Margaret and T. Leonard (Len) Kelly; two sisters, Margaret Mary, Janet Kelly Dodsworth, and a brother, Donald J. Kelly. Mr. Kelly graduated from St. Agnes Grade School, Cathedral Boys High School and Springfield Junior College and as Real Estate Broker since 1948, was a member of the Springfield Association of Realtors, past President of the Society of Real Estate Appraisals/Appraisal Institute. He was designated a Senior Residential Appraiser in 1961. He was a member of the Sangamo Club and St. Agnes parish. He is survived by a daugher, Brigid Kelly (husband, Michael) Thomas of Springfield; a son, Richard W. Kelly of Dadeville, Alabama; a sister, Mary Lynn Kelly of Springfield. Also surviving are three granddaughters and devoted companion-Kay Oest of Havana, Illinois. The family will receive visitors at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South 6th Street in Springfield, from 5-8:00 p.m. Thursday December 21st from 5-8:00 p.m. The visitation will begin with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday December 22nd, 2000 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Very Rev. Patrick Wright VF celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
