Tim Strutz

Tim was born on December 30, 1960, in Springfield, the son of Victor and Patricia (Thompson) Strutz.

Tim graduated from Griffin High School in 1979. He worked for the State of Illinois, City of Springfield-Department of Public Works, and for AT&T. After retirement, Tim was an E Board member of U/6-IBEW Local 21. Tim worked tirelessly at the Anchor Boat Club where he was serving as the President. He enjoyed traveling with his dog, Remmi, boating, and playing bocci ball. Most importantly, Tim loved spending time with family and friends.

Tim was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tim is survived by his brother, Jim (Linda) Strutz of Springfield; nieces, Katherine (Jason) Strutz Ortwerth, and Patricia (fiancé, Nick Dow) Strutz, both of St. Louis, MO; great-nieces, Emma and Lucy Ortwerth; and his beloved chocolate lab, Remmi.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
