Tim was born January 5, 1971, in Springfield, IL, the son of James and Nancy Figueira Hay.
A very loyal person, with a heart as big as this world, and a sense of humor to match; to know him was to be his friend.
He played varsity soccer for four years at Sacred Heart Griffin High School, and graduated in 1989. He then attended Lincoln Land Community College. Tim was an amazing cook. Over the past 30 years he worked at many Springfield restaurants and most recently was employed with Luca Pizza and D&J Café. He spent the past two summers in Vermont working as a banquet chef for a summer camp and wedding venue. He found his greatest passion in creating through cooking, art, and music.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Tim is survived by his children, Jace Crowder-Hay of Rochester and Erika Hay of Chicago; mother, Nancy Hay of Springfield; siblings, Terri (Chad) Jacobs and Tom Hay; two nieces, two nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
A prayer service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL.
