
Victoria F. “Vicki” Lynch, 85, of Springfield, passed away at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2002 at West Abbe Healthcare Center in Springfield. She was born January 13, 1917 the daughter of William and Clara Dietzen Sim in Danville, IL. After her father’s death she was raised by her mother and step-father, Jospeh Simons. Vicki married James Lynch, Jr. on February 5, 1944; he preceded her in death on January 30, 2000. Mrs. Lynch was a graduate of St. Theresa High School in Decatur, IL and Sparks Business College. She worked as a secretary for the Federal Government and Housing Authority and retired in 1971 after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and was active in their Altar and Rosary Society. Vicki was also involved with the St. Louise de Marrillac Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; one son, Joseph J. Lynch and step-father, Joseph Simons. She is survived by nephew, Robert Landers; cousins, Nancy Dietzen, Cecilia Dietzen, Rev. John Dietzen, and Rev. Vincent Dietzen; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2001 with a wake service at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Very Reverend Patrick Wright V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, 251 N. Amos Avenue, Springfield, IL, 62702.
