She was born in Girard, IL on December 4, 1919, the daughter of Claude and Pearl Southerland.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Milton Buehrig.
She was a RN for twenty-five years and retired in 1968. Virginia was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
Virginia is survived by three sons; David and his wife Deanna Martin of Springfield; Dan Martin of West Palm Beach, FL.; Joe Martin of Long Beach, CA., three step-sons; Grant Buehrig and his wife Aquina of VA., Bruce Buehrig and his wife Janet of St. Louis, MO., Mark Buehrig and his wife Sheila of OR., a step-daughter, Anne Townsend of Connecticut; three grandchildren; Brian Martin, Jeremy Martin and Melissa Martin, several step-grandchildren and several great-grand children.
Per Virginia’s wishes, there will be no services at this time and cremation rites will be accorded.
